Academic Councils
If you have any concerns that you think impact students in multiple programs you should bring these concerns to your council representative. Your council representative will share these with other members of your council. Council Delegates can share these concerns with all student leaders campus-wide during GSA Forum. If the concern is something that affects a majority of the student body or a vulnerable population, GSA leadership will take on the advocacy to a university and UC-wide level. If the concern falls within the scope of your council, they will advocate for change at the divisional/school level.
The Representatives of each Council shall ensure:
The Representatives of each Council shall ensure:

- The administration and programming of the funds of that Council;
- The election of Council Officers and Council Representatives to GSA committees and Delegates to the GSA Forum; and
- The performance of such duties as may be specified in the GSA Constitution or Codes.
If you find that your program is not listed, please reach out to our VP of Internal Affairs to add your program to the GSA codes.

Council Budgets
Academic Councils are allocated funding based on the number of graduate students they represent. Please contact your academic council for questions about how funds for each department/program are allocated.
If you would like to see the status of your council's budget. You can see the latest financial report and search your council name; then see how much has carried over from previous years, how much has been spent this fiscal year, and how much is still available.
NOTICE: As per the GSA Codes, each Council must maintain at least 75% attendance of their Designated Representatives to all GSA bodies and uphold all of their responsibilities. Failure to do so will lead to a suspension of their funds. (Codes 2.4)
