BruinCard
The UCLA Bruini Card is your library card, student ID card, building access card, campus debit card and much more. Find out how to get and use your BruinCard.

Bruin OnLine
Bruin OnLine offers a collection of services for UCLA student, staff, and faculty members. To set up a BOL email account please visit their Accounts page. Visit their website to find out how to set up a proxy server that will allow you to access sites accessible only to UCLA IP addresses. Find out where there's wireless access on campus and how to configure your computer to take advantage of it. See what else they have to offer at Bruin OnLine!

Career Services
The UCLA Career Center provides career counseling and workshops for graduate students. The Career Center can help you with both the academic and non-academic job search. For more information about their services for graduate students, visit the Career Center website.

For students in the Humanities and Social Sciences who are interested in exploring a non-academic career path, check out Duke University's WRK4US guest speaker discussion series.

UCLA Center for Women & Men
The Center for Women & Men offers drop-in consultation, counseling and workshops on a broad range of issues, including: communication, dating, assertiveness, relationships, conflict resolution, workplace communication, communication with advisors (and others in positions of authority), anger, eating issues, concentration, safety, and challenges of multiple roles. The Center offers special services for non-traditional students, including transfer students, returning students and students who are parents (including child care referral). The Center also provides services around issues connected with sexual assault, sexual harassment, intimate partner violence and status abuse. The Center seeks to assist students in overcoming gender-based roadblocks to academic, personal, and professional success.

Child Care
UCLA's Early Care and Education's Child Care Resource Program provides individualized assistance, parenting and consumer information to more than 1,000 families each year. For more information about the resource program and the UCLA Early Care and Education program, visit the UCLA ECE website.

Computer Labs

Dean of Students Office
The Dean of Students Office webpage offers information on university policies, academic integrity, as well as tips for classroom management, how to confront and report academic dishonesty, and many other topics. The Dean of Students Office is available to help students with a wide range of challenges.

Deferring your Student Loans
If you need to defer your student loans while you are a graduate student at UCLA visit the Student Loan Services & Collections website for information on the process. Check their "how to" series for information on many topics, including deferment, loan consolidation, and rehabilitation.

Health and Wellness
UCLA has many resources to help keep you healthy and to get you back in good form when you're not so healthy. The Ashe Center offers a full range of clinical and support services, most of which are covered by your registration fees. To learn more about their services, the Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan, or to make an appointment online or ask a question, visit their website.

Student Psychological Services offers both individual and group counseling (including graduate students and dissertation groups!), as well as a number of workshops and programs. Their website also includes a self-assessment tool that can help you determine if a professional consultation would be useful (click on the big yellow button on the SPS front page).

Don't forget UCLA Recreation. Recreation has multiple facilities (including a Marina Aquatic Center with windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, and more), hundreds of classes and fitness programs, numerous intramural teams, and club sports. If you have kids, check out their summer camp and youth program opportunities.

Housing
UCLA graduate students have many housing options. To find out about University Apartments (for families and single graduate students) visit the UCLA Housing website. For information about off-campus housing, the UCLA Community Housing Office has information about Los Angeles neighborhoods, rental rates, and rental listings that can be accessed with your Student ID Number. Incoming students without a Student ID Number can contact CHO about temporary access to the housing database.

Ombuds Office
The Office of Ombuds Services is a resource that provides assistance in resolving conflicts, disputes, or complaints on an informal basis to all members of the UCLA community.  The office is confidential, neutral and independent.  The office operates within University policy and reports to the Chancellor's Office for administrative and budgetary purposes.  The Office of Ombuds Services is located at 501 Westwood Plaza - Strathmore Building Suite 105.  www.ombuds.ucla.edu.  The telephone number is 310/825-7627.  email:  ombuds@conet.ucla.edu

A great introduction to UCLA's services. The guide containts useful information for both new and continuing students in a handy pdf format suitable for printing.

Orientation Handouts
These handouts are included in the new graduate student packet provided at the New Graduate Student Orientation. Check out Dorothy's LA Food Guide and discover a world of possibilities for eating in Los Angeles. Hoi Ning's Helpful Websites Guide has links to things you need to know about on campus and off. Tonya's Things to Do In LA Guide will introduce you to many great ways to take a break from your studies and to get to know Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. Take a look at the list of graduate student groups on campus -- find your support network, pursue your interests!

Software Central
Software Central serves the UCLA community by negotiating, acquiring, implementing, distributing, managing and supporting campus-wide agreements for the software products and services commonly used in support of UCLA's teaching, research and public service missions. Sexual Harrassment Prevention
Visit the UCLA Sexual Harrassment Prevention website to learn about campus policies and procedures. Understand what sexual harrassment is and find out how to prevent it and where to get help if you need it.

Taxes
Do you need help doing your taxes? The Vita Program at UCLA helps UCLA community members properly prepare their annual federal and state income tax returns free of charge. The VITA program operates in early to mid-April. Assistance is available only to US residents. The staff is not trained to prepare non-resident returns. International graduate students looking for assistance with their taxes can attend non-resident tax workshops sponsored by the Dashew Center for nternational Students and Scholars. DCISS also recommends that international students review the Non-Resident Tax information that they have prepared. Both US and non-resident graduate students who received fellowships should review Graduate Divisions webpage on tax issues.

Teaching Assistant Resources
The Office of Instructional Development TA Training Program offers 3 major training programs and other resources to help TAs improve their teaching and advance their professional development. The Dean of Students Office has information for instructors on dealing with issues of academic integrity and classroom management. Student Psychological Service provides a brochure on how to identify and refer a troubled student.
