Graduate Writing Center Summer Dissertation Institute
June 27-July 25, 2007

We are no longer accepting applications for the Summer Dissertation Institute. The workshops on this schedule are for students who have been enrolled in the program. All other graduate students may attend the regular summer dissertation writing workshops (for schedule, click here) and are welcome to purchase the materials for the course (listed below), and to schedule appointments with the graduate writing consultants.

The Summer Dissertation Institute is designed to help graduate students who are writing a thesis or dissertation deal with common writing issues and make better progress toward completion. Students must attend all mandatory workshops and meet regularly with the Dissertation Institute Director and Graduate Writing Tutors to discuss specific writing issues and to assess progress toward individual goals.

The Director of the Summer Dissertation Institute is Dr. Leigh Harris. Leigh is a faculty member in UCLA Writing Programs.  She holds a PhD in English from Yale University.
