The Fall 2007 New Graduate Student Orientation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2007.
This is a past event - please follow this link for current orientation information
The UCLA Graduate Students Association and the UCLA Graduate Student Resource Center invite
all new graduate students to the New Graduate Student Orientation. This comprehensive orientation includes lunch, a resource fair, and workshops that provide information to ease your transition into graduate school, introduce you to campus services and involvement opportunities, and show you just how much UCLA has to offer. Start your graduate career at UCLA off right!
For information about other beginning of the year activities for new graduate students please visit this link.
In case of rain (looking more and more likely), lunch will be served indoors. Listen for an announcement at the plenary session for more information, or check with a graduate student volunteer (wearing the bright blue orientation t-shirt) for information about a lunch location change.

Registration
Registration is now closed. Walk-in registration is available on the day of the event in the Ackerman 2nd Floor Lounge. Walk-ins are welcome (we encourage you to come!), but because the lunch order was placed based on registration numbers, we won't be able to provide you with a box lunch. The main orientation venue has many excellent, reasonably priced lunch options, so you won't have to go hungry!
Transportation
If you are driving to campus, please check this link about alternate routes to avoid Residence Hall Move-In traffic flow problems.
Graduate students with parking passes must park in their assigned lot. For students without parking permits who will be driving to campus, nearby metered/pay-station parking is available in Lots 4 and 6 for $8/day. For more information about parking, as well as using public transportation, please see the very, very helpful UCLA Transportation website.
*Schedule Conflicts*
The New Graduate Student Orientation is not intended to take the place of your departmental orientation.
If your school or department has planned orientation activities on September 21st, you should attend those events.
