GSA Resolution Establishing the Graduate Student Resource CenterWHEREAS The Graduate Students Association represents approximately 10,000 graduate and professional school students at the University of California, Los Angeles , WHEREAS incoming graduate students are often lost when it comes to the large amount of bureaucracy at UCLA, WHEREAS current graduate students often need assistance in handling both academic and administrative problems, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students Association hereby establish the UCLA Graduate Student Resource Center located in the newly remodeled Student Activities Center, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT we establish a cabinet level position, Director of the Graduate Student Resource Center, who is charged with development and implementation of this resolution, including developing the center as a location for getting information regarding academic and administrative problems as well as a common tour location for visiting potential graduate students, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT we request that Graduate Division and other academic and student affairs offices make full use of the center by holding weekly office hours in the center, BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THAT the Graduate Students Association encourages all graduate students and the UCLA administration to take full advantage of this new resource when it opens in Fall 2003. |
