Irma Castañeda is originally from the Chicagoland area. She graduated with a B.A. from Wheaton College (IL) in Sociology and Spanish, and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at UCLA's Luskin School of Public Affairs with a focus on education policy. Irma is passionate about education equity and access.
As the Organizing Director for UCLA's Graduate Student Association, Irma's goal for this year is to collaborate with first generation groups on campus to foster community, bring awareness of available resources, and advocate for the needs of first generation graduate students.
