Keara Pina is a first-year Master’s of Public Policy student at the Luskin School of Public Affairs passionate about improving social inequalities with a focus on women and children.
Before coming to UCLA, Keara graduated with a degree in Public Health and minor in Public Policy from UC Berkeley. She then began working at UnitedHealthcare and took on many roles working on projects involving regulatory affairs, Medi-Cal implementation, contracting strategy and other network management projects.
Keara is pursuing her MPP to transition her career into the government and non-profit sector and explore her many policy interests. As the current Director of Legislative Affairs for GSA, Keara is tackling state and national legislative agendas to help advocate on behalf of all UCLA graduate students.
In her free time, Keara is always up to join friends and family for a day at the beach, trip to a new restaurant, or a morning run.
