Director of Administrative Affairs
As the Director of Administrative Affairs, Melissa works with the VP of Internal Affairs and other members of the GSA on various administrative tasks, and helps to ensure open and effective communication between the GSA and its committee members. In this capacity, she helps with the planning of GSA forum meetings, as well as with the appointment of GSA committee members, to ensure that graduate students are well represented across campus. Melissa is working on her PhD in the Geography department at UCLA, where she also earned her master’s degree. Her research focuses on regional economic development, and the role of technological change in producing uneven economic and employment outcomes in US cities. She is also the VP of finances for the Social Sciences Council. She graduated with high honors from Colgate University in 2016, with degrees in geography and economics.
