We ask you to partner with us to impact and improve the lives of incarcerated children and teenagers, by purchasing books for the BEYOND 4 WALLS BOOK DRIVE to benefit the 600+ children and teens housed at the Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Detention Facility in Sylmar. The book drive runs from May 18-June 8, 2007, with a culminating reception on Wednesday, June 6, at the Kerckhoff Art Gallery. Hanson Distinguished Service Award and the James LuValle Distinguished Service Award have been announced. We were overwhelmed by the terrific response and the incredible talent pool among graduate students here at UCLA. It was very difficult to choose a winner, but in the end our judges selected a logo that they feel best represents the GSA's mission, values and purpose. The winner of the 2007 GSA Logo Competition is Parisa Popalzai, a PhD student in the Islamic Studies Program. See the Logo Contest page for more details.
