  • Description: Responsible for keeping the overall graduate student population aware of all pertinent GSA activities.

    Compensation: At least $1600/quarter (depending on the annual GSA Budget approval)

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintains all relevant GSA communication channels (Facebook, GSA Website, Newsletter, Slack, ASUCLA) alongside the Director of Social Media/Web Manager, and respond to inquiries

    • Attend 75% of GSA Cabinet Meetings

    • Maintain and promptly respond to messages sent to their official email and Slack accounts.

    • Must attend at least one (1) GSA Forum per quarter unless otherwise stated

    Preferences:

    • Excellent writing, editing and verbal skills.

    • Highly collaborative and can develop and implement communication strategies.

    • Graduate and professional students are often difficult to reach. How do you specifically propose to promote GSA and improve communications this year

  • Description: Responsible for keeping the overall graduate student population aware of all pertinent GSA activities through social media.

    Responsibilities:

    • Create content, schedule posts and maintain all GSA social media platforms.

    • Develop and implement social media strategies to reach, inform and engage graduate and professional students.

    • Maintains all relevant GSA communication channels (Facebook, GSA Website, Newsletter, Slack, ASUCLA) alongside the Director of Social Media/Web Manager, and respond to inquiries

    • Attend 75% of GSA Cabinet Meetings

    • Must be strategically-minded and savvy with social media, graphics, trends etc. to announce and promote GSA activities

  • Description: Responsible for administering, funding, and managing GSA’s Discretionary Funds to registered graduate and professional student groups.

    Compensation: At least $1600/quarter (depending on the annual GSA Budget approval)

    Appointment Type: GSA Director

    Responsibilities:

    • Must be aware of GSA/SOLE codes and rules pertaining Discretionary Funding (applicants need not know this when applying; job training will be provided)

    • Works with GSA Cabinet to promote student groups

    • Process requisitions, maintain financial guidelines and educate councils on these guidelines

    • If there are no discretionary funds to process, responsible for assisting and providing administrative support to the Director of Finance

    • Attend 75% of GSA Cabinet Meetings

    • Maintain and promptly respond to messages sent to their official email and Slack accounts.

    • Must attend at least one (1) GSA Forum per quarter unless otherwise stated.

    Preferences:

    • Finance, Economic/Business major.

    • Previous experience in managing the finance/budget of a group or organization.

    • Assuming a student event is eligible to receive discretionary funds, what methodology would you use to determine which student groups receive funding?

  • Description: Responsible for promoting, managing, enforcing, and administering GSA Elections and establishing an elections calendar. Enforces the GSA Constitution, Codes, and Bylaws pertaining to the governance of GSA.

    Compensation: At least $1600/quarter (depending on the annual GSA Budget approval)

    Responsibilities:

    • Conducting a fair and timely election that ensures the election of a cabinet for the upcoming academic year.

    • Informing all graduate students of GSA Elections affairs and elections procedures

    • Ensuring that the graduate student body is informed and aware of how to formally vote for annual ballot referenda and candidates for elected office

    • Bring together representatives of GSA Academic Councils to form an Elections Board and chair all meetings of the Elections Board.

    • Coordinating replacement of elected officers in the event of a vacant office (e.g. resignation or removal).

    • Attend 75% of GSA Cabinet Meetings (Not a member, there for procedure.)

    • Maintain and promptly respond to messages sent to their official email and Slack accounts.

    • Must attend every GSA Forum (3 per quarter on the Wednesday of Weeks 3/6/9 at 5:30PM)

    Requirements:

    • Must be an independent neutral individual and shall not be subject to influence by outside entities including GSA Officers.

    • Cannot run for office Spring 2022. (No person having served as the Commissioner of Elections shall be eligible for candidacy for any office of the GSA in the academic year in which they served as Commissioner of Elections.)

    • The Commissioner of Elections shall not be an author of any proposed referendum.

  • Description: Responsible for coordinating and promoting social, cultural, recreational programs to foster interaction among the UCLA GSA student body

    Responsibilities:

    • Must manage the GSA Events Board

    • Must ensure that all GSA Events are accessible by the student body

    • Attend 75% of GSA Cabinet Meetings

    • Maintain and promptly respond to messages sent to their official email and Slack accounts.

    • Must attend at least one (1) GSA Forum per quarter unless otherwise stated.

    Preferences:

    • Experience in event planning

    • Social media savvy

  • Description: Responsible for programming and coordinating films and panels twice a week as GSA Melnitz Movies

    Compensation: At least $2400/quarter (depending on the annual GSA Budget approval)

    Responsibilities:

    • Must plan two film events per week

    • Provide opportunity for student groups sponsorship for film-related events

    • Attend 75% of GSA Cabinet Meetings

    • Maintain and promptly respond to messages sent to their official email and Slack accounts.

    • Must attend at least one (1) GSA Forum per quarter unless otherwise stated.

    Preferences:

    • Experience in event planning

    • Must know how to select films for screening

  • Description: Responsible for attending GSA Forum, taking meeting minutes, and maintaining attendance of GSA delegates in accordance to GSA Codes. Responsible for coordinating with GSA Councils on events, policy, and shared initiatives.

    Compensation: At least $1600/quarter (depending on the annual GSA Budget approval)

    Reporting Officer: Vice President Internal and President

    Appointment Type: GSA Director

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensures coordination with councils regarding Council meetings, agendas, leadership, and events

    • Coordinates with GSA representatives on committees so that progress and reports are known by the student body

    • Coordinates with GSA Cabinet to ensure policy changes are known by the student body

    • Maintain and update guidelines for the smooth operations of the office of the Administrative Director

    • Take minutes of meetings and make them available.

    • Attend 75% of GSA Cabinet Meetings

    • Maintain and promptly respond to messages sent to their official email and Slack accounts.

    • Must attend every GSA Forum (3 per quarter on the Wednesday of Weeks 3/6/9 at 5:30PM)

    • Prior experience in organizational management and report writing.

  • Description: Responsible for coordinating with Councils to ensure that council requisitions are properly managed in a timely fashion.

    Responsibilities:

  • Description: CPB's charge is to "make recommendations based on established Senate policy to the Chancellor and Senate agencies concerning the allocation of educational resources, academic priorities, and the planning and budgetary process" as well as formulating a Senate view on "the campus budget and each major campus space-use and building project." CPB discusses with the Executive Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for Finance the current strategic and budget issues. CPB maintains an active relationship with the Statewide University Council on Planning and Budget (UCPB) through its UCPB representative.

  • Description: Associated Students UCLA (ASUCLA) founded in 1919 is a unique non-profit

    organization in that its Board of Directors consists of a student majority. The Associated

    Students UCLA is a student-led organization that creates the strongest, long-lasting memories for

    every member of the UCLA community. The ASUCLA Board of Directors upholds the mission

    of the Associated Students UCLA, as a responsive student-centered organization, to provide

    innovative and excellent services, programs, products, and facilities for the entire UCLA

    community. Board members are the fiduciaries who steer the organization towards a sustainable

    future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, and

    Responsibilities

    • All appointees to the ASUCLA Board of Directors must be eligible to serve a two-year term

    • Attend the mandatory three-day Orientation Retreat which will be held June 13-15

    • Attend all Board of Directors meetings, including summer meetings (Meets monthly)

    • Attend all Standing Committee meetings (Meets monthly)

  • Description: The Chancellors Oversight Committee is charged by the UCLA Chancellor to review the activities and decisions of the TDC Board of Directors and the TDG, including its management of intellectual property owned by The Regents, certain University-industry research collaborations, and other University-related activities over which the TDG has jurisdiction.

  • Description: Campus Programs Committee (CPC) The Campus Programs Committee funds student-initiated and student-run on-campus programs that educationally and/or culturally enrich the campus community.  These also include on-campus programs that outreach to youth and/or community college students.  There is a regular fund for larger programs and a mini-fund for programs with smaller budgets.

    Compensation: $2000 for members, $3000 for chairs

    Appointment Type: Campus Committee

    Responsibilities:

    • Term: July 2021-June 2022

    • Attend all committee meetings, find a proxy for the meeting should you be unable to attend (At least 6 per school year)

    • Write meeting notes during all committee meetings and share meeting notes with the Director of the Administrative Affairs

    • Stay informed about graduate student issues and accurately represent the graduate student body during committee meetings

  • Description: Community Activities Committee (CAC) provides funds for student-initiated, student-led community service programs that work with economically and socially disadvantaged communities.  The CAC Regular Fund is submitted in the summer and provides the largest allocations for ongoing community service projects that take place throughout the academic year. CAC Minifund provides quarterly funding for smaller service programs or to augment funding for larger service programs.  Summer Funding offers funds for programs that take place during the summer.  The Summer Fund primarily applies to groups that have applied and have received an allocation from the regular CAC fund.

    Compensation: $2000 for members, $3000 for chairs

    Responsibilities:

  • Description: The GSRC Oversight Committee advises the Graduate Student Resource Center Director and staff on the allocation of resources and program development. It will meet a minimum of three times per quarter during the academic year.

  • Description: GWCOC is made of 1 member from each of the GSA councils. GWCOC provides advice and input to the GWC Director on the services of the Graduate Writing Center since it is largely a graduate referendum-funded program.

  • Description: Publishers of the student media on campus. This student-majority board are the publishers of the Daily Bruin, BruinLife Yearbook, UCLA Radio, and seven community-orientated newsmagazines: Ha'Am, La Gente, Nommo, Pacific Ties, OutWrite, FEM, Al-Talib.

  • Description: The SAC Board of Governors is a majority student run board whose membership is composed of tenants of the SAC, with four graduate representatives and four undergraduate representatives.  The SAC Board of Governors is responsible for the review, recommendation and oversight of all budgetary operations of the SAC and acts in an advisory role to the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs.

    Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities:

  • Description: The Transportation Service Advisory Board (TSAB) provides input to the Administrative Vice Chancellor on transportation related matters.  TSAB is charged with working collaboratively with service providers to ensure that the strategic direction and operational outcomes of service providers are appropriate in the context of the overall campus mission and vision, and that high quality services are provided
