Program Funding
Below is a list of funds the student ORGs can apply for. Make sure to read each section carefully to ensure that your organization is eligible for the fund.

Student Groups are granted funds through the process of proposals and hearings. Applications & Guidelines are available through Programming Applications & Guidelines
For GSA, different funding sources would include:
Discretionary
Travel
Funds are brought to USAC to be reviewed & approved at their weekly meetings.
After funds are granted, the funds are transferred into the student group's account (sometimes referred to as a department) in the SGA office.
Once funds have been allocated to your student group, in order to access your account a general requisition must be submitted, or a REQ for short. Each req much be completely filled out with the appropriate signatures, necessary information, your 21 digit account number, and the required attachments.
The Student Government Accounting office uses the General Requisition Form to process the expenditures of each student group/department, and student government office.
The Student Government Accounting office processes the REQ & issues the payment as a check to the payee.

GSA Discretionary Fund
The GSA Discretionary Fund provides grants for efforts that promote UCLA’s graduate student community, support student group activities, and align with GSA’s mission. It is available to registered student organizations through the GSA’s proposal and approval process.

GSAF (Graduate Scholarly Activities Fund)
The purpose of the Graduate Scholarly Activities Fund (GSAF) is to support UCLA graduate and professional students in sharing and advancing their scholarship. The Fund provides grants for conference participation, research-related travel, publication and dissemination costs, and professional development. By reducing the financial barriers to these activities, the GSAF aims to give every graduate student, regardless of discipline, program, or funding situation, an equal opportunity to participate fully in their academic and professional communities.

Fall 2026: Mon., Week 1 of the Law School Academic Year
Winter 2027: Mon., Week 1 of Winter Quarter
Spring 2027: Mon., Week 1 of Spring Quarter
Funding Used Deadline:
Fall 2026: Fri., Week 1 of Winter {Jan 15th 2027}
Winter 2027: Fri., Week 1 of Spring {April 7th 2027}
Spring 2027: Fri., Week 10 {June 11th 2027}
Summer 2027: Summer activities through July 31st are eligible. But, they must be applied for and funding must be used before the SGA final requisition deadline.
